Welcome to Theologue

Saltier Salt & Brighter Light (Matthew 5:13-16)

About Us

Theologue is a ministry of Theologetics. It's a community of believers who seek to glorify God and be ready to defend the faith with gentleness and reverence (1 Peter 3:15). We accomplish this by discussing theology and apologetics concepts with each other in grace and truth (John 1:14).

Why You Should Join Us

1 Peter 3:15 (NASB) says:

"15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;"

Theologue is a community dedicated to questioning, discussing, and learning together in this context.

You should join if you seek to contribute to the conversation and lift others up.

Inviting Others

Currently Theologue is a "Request-to-Join or "Invite-Only" community. We are doing this on a trial basis to pilot the community and in hopes that the discussions can be self-moderated. You may request to join but before doing so, please read our community guidelines (below). All members of the community can invite new members, so you are welcome to invite others who will edify the community. We will give you more information about how you can invite others shortly after you join.

We hope to completely open the community in the future.

Community Guidelines

We need your help to keep the Theologue community edifying to its members and glorifying to God. So we've establish a bare minimum set of community guidelines. If you are unwilling to accept or abide by these guidelines, please do not request to be added to the community.

Here are our guidelines:

1) You accept the following core tenets of Christianity:

There is a monotheistic God.

This God is triune (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

The deity of Jesus (the Son in the triune)

Jesus rose from the dead.

Salvation comes only by grace through faith.

The 66 books of the Bible guide my faith and my life.

2) You understand that all articles, posts, discussions, debates, etc. are intended to glorify God and edify the community. Therefore, we should approach all members with grace and truth. This doesn't mean we can't disagree or attempt to challenge others' beliefs, but it does mean we should do so with gentleness and reverences for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Swearing, promotion of violence toward other members, inappropriate sexual discussions, and discussions that do not display the love of Christ will not be tolerated.

3) Don’t spam or over-promote things. This community exists to help everyone learn and grow in their faith. It’s not a place to spam, promote your book/YT channel/etc., or to solely be a marketing platform for whatever you're doing. We encourage using the community to get feedback on ideas and works in progress. We also feel that sharing resources is great (even resources you've developed), but have some tact. (Note: There are Topics for both "Theology: Resource List" and "Apologetics: Resource List" meant to aggregate resources.)

Hopefully, these should be easy agreements. If you think you’ll be able to abide by these guidelines, please request to join the community

If, in practice, you are actually unable to abide by these guidelines, we reserve the right to remove you from the community.

** Note: Theologue is not intended to be a debate community with non-believers.
